After the widespread crash that caused numerous amounts of Playstation 3′s to be “bugged”, today Sony has warned owners to leave their Playstation 3 consoles off. Sony reported that they are working on the issue that is preventing gamers from connecting to the Playstation Network or playing games. They said “you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality.”

The error that seems to affect mainly the older models of the Playstation 3 and not the slims. Upon starting up your system the date will reset to 12/31/99 and you will be unable to play offline games and will not be able to connect to the network. Turning on your Playstation 3 and having this problem run, may cause the loss of data and loss of trophies/game achievements.

So keep your PS3 turned OFF until Sony has released an update about the problem being officially fixed! Time to go outside and play I guess……

Are you a Nintendo DSi fan that has been waiting patiently (or not) for a newer and better handheld system? Well the wait will be soon over! Nintendo is releasing the new DSi XL on March 28, 2010 here in the United States. While it may look very similar to the previous model, this one has some new features that may catch your eye.

With a price tag of $190 this new DSi XL will come equipped with a screen that is 93% larger than the last. It will also feature an eBook reader so you can game and read. This seems very similar to the Apple iPad but if customers want it, why not give it to them. The only known eBook package is called “100 Classic Books” and will cost you $20 but once the device is released, more eBooks will be available plus not to mention possible mods.

More information will be released once Nintendo gives the public and update or the device is released.

Are you looking forward to the DSi XL? Do you think it is competition for the Apple iPad? Comment below!

Microsoft creating motion sensored games?

Rumors are spreading that Microsoft is planning to take on the motion sensor technology to compete with Nintendo Wii.

The 3DV Systems camera from Israel may be the basis of the new motion sensitive controller. Microsoft plans to unveil a new video camera that allows users to control games by moving their bodies. The new camera may be shown at the upcoming E3 convention. We will have to wait and see what Microsoft has in store for all of the gamers.

I think it would definitely be a smart move on Microsoft’s part. Motion controlled games are the next generation of gaming and these companies have to keep up with the times.
