Activision Sued By Call Of Duty Creators

Jason West and Vince Zampella, two creators of the popular Call of Duty franchise are suing Activision. The reason is they say they were fired so that Activision could avoid paying large royalties from the popular video game. West and Zampella filed the lawsuit Wednesday and are seeking damages in excess of $36 million, as well as future royalties.
Thursday Activision Blizzard Inc. called the claims “meritless”. West and Zampella’s lawyers stated that “Activision terminated their employment weeks before they were to be paid substantial royalty payments as part of their existing contracts for ‘Modern Warfare 2″.
Sounds to me like Activision has a small problem on their hands but I am sure that they will end up handing over some cash to the two “ex” executives. It won’t stop me from playing one of my favorite games of all time. Long live the Call of Duty franchise!
